Arenal Volcano

The Arenal Volcano is the only volcano in Costa Rica that has been constantly active since 1968.  Many times, at night, you can get lucky and actually see some lava coming out from the volcano as if it was a firecracker show!

Irazu Volcano

Irazú is the highest volcano in Costa Rica, situated in the Cordillera Central close to the city of Cartago.   It offers an impressive view of the Orosi valley, one of the most beautiful sceneries in Costa Rica.

Poas Volcano

Poás Volcano is one of the most visited volcanoes in Costa Rica because of its proximity to San José and because of the abundant forest that surrounds the two craters. One of the craters measures 1.5 kilometers in diameter (0.9 miles) and is 300 meters deep (900 feet), making it the third largest crater in the world.

Rincon de la Vieja Volcano

It is situated about 25 km from Liberia, in the province of Guanacaste.  Large number of hot pools (hot springs) and areas of bubbling mud (fumaroles) are found in two areas on the slopes of the volcano.  It is surrounded by a diverse flora and fauna.
